Carlos Piovanetti, Esq.,
is our Managing Attorney and supervisor of our legal staff. An accomplished writer, his articles on current immigration matters are published in several community newspapers. Mr. Piovanetti is experienced in all areas of immigration law, and specializes in complex immigration litigation matters. A member of AILA, he is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.
Ana Carolina Paniagua,J.D. ,our Director of Program Development.
She received her law degree from Universidad Salvadorena Alberto Masferrer. Ms. Paniagua represented the government of El Salvador before the United Nations during sessions of UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and WFP. Ms. Paniagua is the former Human Development Director for the office of El Salvador’s First Lady; where she managed nationwide projects funded by USAID, USDA, IBD-FOMIN and UNDP.
Ravi Kambhampaty, Esq., our Co-Executive Director
graduated from The University of Maryland School of Law. An Associate Attorney, he assists clients in all immigration matters. While in law school, Mr. Kambhampaty worked on International Human Rights issues in Namibia and represented criminal clients at Bail Re-reviews in Baltimore City District Court. He has completed two internships with the U.S. Army JAG Corps and is currently a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Kambhampaty speaks Spanish and Telugu.
is a staff attorney with the agency. She received her law degree from Touro Law Center, and her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Ms. Diner is devoted to representing clients to achieve their legal immigration goals. Ms. Diner has successfully represented clients in courts throughout Long Island, New York City, and upstate New York. She has represented clients in Immigration Court, Supreme Court, Family Court, District Court, and Civil Court. Ms. Diner treats all clients with the compassion and sensitivity needed to help them navigate through difficult and often sensitive legal matters that clients may find themselves going through.
Geoffrey Hinds, Esq.
Geoffrey C. Hinds is a staff attorney with the agency. He received his Law Degree from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Central Islip, NY and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC. He has represented detained and non-detained clients in Immigration Courts in New York, Texas, Atlanta, Louisiana, and New Jersey. He has also represented clients in New York Family courts. He has a working knowledge of Spanish.
AveMaria Thompson, Esq.
Ms. Thompson is a staff attorney with the agency. She has
represented detained clients in removal and bond proceedings in
Immigration Court in New York City and New Jersey. She has also
successfully represented clients in Family Court, Criminal Court, and
USCIS proceedings throughout Long Island. Ms. Thompson has
demonstrated a commitment to public service. She was a Prosecutor
for 10 years in Suffolk County. She received her law degree from
Touro Law Center and her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Buffalo
Elsy Segovia, Esq., our New Jersey associate,
Elsy graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 2009 and is a member of the New Jersey Bar. Elsy worked as a legal assistant/Board of Immigration Appeals accredited representative at American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) for approximately 10 years. Her work at AFSC motivated her to go to law school. Experienced in all immigration matters, Elsy is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and speaks Spanish.
Saisha Maldonado, Co-Executive Director
Graduate from John Jay College of Criminal Justice,with a legal degree in Legal Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. A Paralegal at immigration legal services Brentwood office. Looking forward to one day being able to enter into law school where she would like to study criminal law and become a prosecutor. She enjoys working with the Immigration community. Has managing and customer service experience for over 10 years. Is fluent in Spanish and has knowledge in Italian.
A graduate of New York School of Law, Linda worked as Court Attorney Referee in the NYS Family Court system in Suffolk, Richmond and Kings Counties. Her family law experience helps our Special Immigrant Juvenile Status applicants. Linda is fluent in Spanish
After retiring from a long, successful career in the business world, Mr. Caputo first volunteered at our satellite office in Bridgehampton. Mr. Caputo is responsible for all administrative functions in Bridgehampton. Completely bilingual in English and Spanish, he occasionally serves as an interpreter.
is our media specialist and web designer with outstanding technical, usability, and user interface design skills. Mr. Ostos designs, develops and updates our website. He creates our pod-casts, and videos including their edit animation.
A Certified Paralegal from Hunter College, CUNY, with an Associated Degree in Business Management from ITP, I am a Paralegal at Immigration Legal Services of Long Island at the New York City office. I speak English and Spanish , 2 years experience as Paralegal. I like to help people in the their cases through the Immigration Legal System.
