Keys to Biden's Expedited Asylum and Deportation Plan (podcast).

Last week, the Justice and Homeland Security departments released new regulations to speed up asylum requests , but also decisions on deportations.

The plan, which must go through a public comment process in the Federal Register, could turn the immigration system 180 degrees without the help of Congress, due to thousands of court cases involving asylum petitions and the new route would give greater control to the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ).

Andrew Seele , president of the Migration Policy Institute, explains to Daniel Parra , from  Ciudad sin Límites , and Jesús García,  from  El Diario , the pros and cons of this project promoted by the Biden Administration.

>> Why would it be beneficial for immigrants seeking asylum?
>>  What would be the worst for non-citizens who are rejected from protection under the new rules?
>>  When would the new guidelines be applied?
