Once USCIS approves Form I-485, in most cases, officers will automatically send the information to the Social Security Administration.
"Once the Social Security Administration receives the information, it will automatically assign an original SSN or issue a replacement card, as necessary," the agency said.

USCIS, which receives about 576,000 status change requests annually, has implemented various adjustments to facilitate immigration processes , following the order of President Biden.
